The biannual journal Universitas Gedanensis is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes scientific articles, book reviews, and publications. The journal is interdisciplinary in nature, with a particular focus on philosophy in the broad sense, including its relationship to the humanities and theology. It is aimed at both the academic community and a wide range of intellectuals interested in contemporary humanities.
Founded in 1989, it was initially a scientific journal of the Gdańsk Theological Institute. Currently, “Universitas Gedanensis” is published by the Pomeranian Philosophical and Theological Society based in Gdańsk.
The editorial board of Universitas Gedanensis ensures the highest ethical and professional standards. Articles are subject to anonymous peer review (double blind review) in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Authors are required to maintain integrity and transparency, including disclosure of contributions from collaborators, sources of funding, and any external influences. After submission, the work undergoes preliminary selection and is then forwarded to reviewers with at least a doctoral degree. Reviews are anonymous and confidential, and the decision to publish is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on their assessment.
